Discreet Attacks
is a series of urban activist works using embassy gates as targets.
It consists of fixing as close as possible to the embassy entrances
activist pictograms depicting a Human Rights violation specific
to each country: Torture, Infanticide, the Death Penalty...
The selection of countries could be focused
on governments which openly violate Human Rights like China or
Russia, but also the governments of western "civilised"
countries such as France, Italy and the United States etc.
The pictograms could be placed on urban
safety signs in embassy areas or closer to the entrances. They
could be conceived, thematised and prepared with a group of Queen
Mary students and volunteers from Mile End communities.
It could be part of the Creative Resistances
programme.
